Chesapeake Firefighters Put the G1 to the Test
Fire Protection supplied the Chesapeake Fire Department with 240 MSA G-1 SCBA units this year, and last week the Wavy 10 evening news captured Chesapeake firefighters putting them to the test. The segment even noted the importance of the iTIC component and EEBS (Emergency Escape Breathing System) to successfully navigate the structural collapse simulated in the empty Sentara Healthcare building.
Fire Protection Outfits Pro-Grind’s Tree-Eating Monster
This customized tree-eating machine started life as a Komatsu excavator. Pro-Grind added a 50-inch cutter head and a 600 horsepower auxiliary Caterpillar C13 Marine diesel engine to power it, and Fire Protection added three 30-pound ABC canisters and a five-gallon wet agent AFEX suppression system.
